An Egyptian actress that has had a love affair with the arts since the day she was born, Mai Omar is the poster child of the current generation’s film industry. While in university, Mai developed a strong passion for acting after having performed in several short plays. Graduating with a bachelor’s in journalism from the AUC, Mai pursued a career working in advertising. She started her artistic journey by directing her first video clip for Rola Saad. However, her passion to be in front of the cameras grew more and more by the day. An opportunity arose when her husband, director Mohamed Samy, gave her the chance to appear in her first role in Hekayet Hayat. She then nominated her to be in Kalam Ala Waraq with singer Haifa Wahbe. Omar’s most popular role was her character in Al Ostoura series, which aired Ramadan 2016. In 2017, Omar took a lead role in Rayyah El Maddam alongside Ahmed Fahmy & Akram Hosny as well as her significant role in Afareet Adly Allam alongside the renowned Adel Emam.
