Biography

Salwa Mohamed Aly is a television, film and theatre actress. Her career took off when she became ‘Khala Khayreya’, a main character in the highly acclaimed children’s television show, Alam Simsim. She then entered the world of Disney in Arabic where she was the voice over for multiple characters in animated cartoons, like; ‘Nafeesa’ from Cinderella, ‘Madame Medusa’ in The Rescuers, and in Toy Story as Andy’s mother. Afterwards, Salwa took on 30 roles between film, television, short films and plays in which her most famous role was ‘Lobna’ in Abwab Almoghlika, ‘Mervat’ in Gaana Albayan El Taaly and the role of ‘Region’ in the play Malik Leer.  Between the years 2002 and 2008, she began to climb her way to the top of the industry, much so that by 2008, she secured 7 roles, with her most prominent being a character in the film Genent El Asmak. In 2009, she starred in Ehky ya Shahrazad and in 2010, she secured around 13 jobs such as Bentein Men Masr, Showk, Microphone and Bibo w Beshir. Furthermore, in 2012, she continued acting in more films like Baad El Mawkiaa, Aashm, and landed her dream role in Fatat El Masnaa and Hepta. Besides her work in film, Aly pursued a television career, acting in El Khawaga Abd El Kader, and appearing in Sign El Nisa, Zat, as well as the classic Ramadan series Tareeky, and Haarit El Yahood. Recently, she costarred in seires such as; Ramadan Karim, Le Aala Sear and 30 days
